A Skyward Express DHC8 Crash Lands Near Kenya-Somalia Border

A light plane belonging to Skyward Express has crash-landed  in Boru Hache near Kenya-Somalia border. The incident which happened at around 0900hrs left 45 people unhurt.

The Skyward Airlines, Reg 5Y -GRS  made an emergency landing at Burahache closed airstrip veering off the strip. The plane had left Wilson Airport in Nairobi and was destined for Mandera on Wednesday morning.

Those aware of the incident said the plane developed mechanical problems that forced it to crash land.Photos taken at the scene showed some soldiers talking to passengers.

Last week, one person was killed and two others injured after a light aircraft crashed in Ndabibi in Naivasha.The Aircraft with registration 5Y-BCL, owned and operated by the Desert Locust crashed with three on board.

Last month, 11 KDF soldiers died after a chopper they were in crashed in Ol Tepesi, Kajiado County. The soldiers were on a training mission when their Mi-171E chopper crashed several minutes after take-off from their base in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
