Accident: Sudan Air Force Mil Mi-24 Helicopter Crashes

Khartoum: A Sudan news media reports that a helicopter of the Sudan Air Force has crashed into the White Nile, south of Khartoum.

The aircraft reportedly fell into the waters of the White Nile at around 3:00 p.m. local time (13:00 GMT) Wednesday 08, Sept. The military arrived at the place of the incident.

The media advisor of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Taher Abu Haga, revealed that two crew members of the plane that crashed were found dead.

Abu Haja explained that, according to a press circular, efforts to search for the crew of the stricken plane resulted in finding two martyrs from the crew, Alaeddin Muhammad Omar Al-Tarifi, and Hassan Al-Tom. They revealed that efforts were still being made to find the rest of the crew.

He added, “We thank the people of West Nile and the villages of Al-Thawra, Al-Taris and Al-Haqina, led by the collective Makk, for their solid stand with the armed forces and other regular forces in this painful incident.”
