GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has announced the delivery of a new Airbus A320neo (msn 9056) to Air Cairo. The Egyptian low-fare company is continuing its fleet densification plan.
A second unit will be delivered in early August by GECAS the Irish-American commercial aviation financing and leasing company.
This addition will provide Air Cairo with the capacity essential to meet the needs of its passengers according to Hussein Sherif, President and CEO of Air Cairo.
He said, “Adding these aircraft to our all A320 fleet will provide Air Cairo with the capacity essential to meet the need of our passengers”.
“We are delighted to welcome two more fuel efficient A320neos and are grateful to the GECAS team for supporting our growing operations”, He added as reported by Newsaero.
This delivery follows that of 26th April when Air Cairo took delivery of its 1st A320neo (msn 10152, SU-BUK) that was leased from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) leasing.
Air Cairo is looking at new markets in the Middle East, Africa and Europe hence, the ambition to have a 19 aircraft fleet by 2024.
