Another Ivorian military Mi-24/35 Hind helicopter crash

The Ivorian Air Force on Friday 9 September, lost a Russian-made Mil Mi-24/35 Hind attack helicopter to a crash.

The Mi-24/35 hind helicopter was on a reconnaissance mission near the country’s northern border region when it came down.

Five people onboard we’re killed, and the Ivorian defense ministry announced through social media that an investigation on the crash is underway.

In 2017, Ivory Coast received three Mi-24/35 attack helicopters to bolster in forces, and a replacement for another three destroyed by France in 2004.

The Mi-24 helicopters have suffered technical attrition in Ivory Coast service, in November 2019, an Mi-24D collided with an Mi-17 belonging to the presidential fleet at Katiola.

Another Mi-24D crashed shortly after takeoff in 18 March 2020 at Felix Houphouet Boigny airport in Abidjan.
