Kenya Air Force chopper crashes in Kajiado with unknown number of occupants

 

Kenya Air Force helicopter has crashed with unknown number of passengers in Ol Tepesi area in Kajiado.

Kenya Defence Forces said via Twitter on Thursday that the chopper is an Mi 171e Air force helicopter which was on training mission.

KDF said the accident occurred at around 9am. Such choppers, they say, can carry upto 26 people.

In a video that went viral on social media, the chopper was seen crashing and immediately bursting into flames.

A pilot on the ground said 17 were feared dead.

Spectators were seen taking pictures and videos as they tried to move closer to the scene.
