The C-27J Spartan Next Generation answers the call for a highly flexible tactical airlifter capable of performing in the most extreme operational environments. From humanitarian relief to troop transport and medevac roles, the combat-proven C-27J can be reconfigured quickly, enabling operators to transport more and reach further.
The adaptable C-27J is in use by 16 operators on five continents. The C-27J Spartan Next Generation is interoperable with other larger airlifters and provides a solid tactical solution unequalled by any other aircraft in its class, thanks to updated avionics, increased operating efficiency, and enhanced performance.
Modern airlifters must be designed to respond quickly. The C-27J can be modified quickly thanks to several roll-on/roll-off mission kits and systems that are simply installable and transportable. It excels in duties such as soldier and freight transport, cargo airdrop, medevac/casevac, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. It is also capable of VIP transport, firefighting, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), marine patrol, and tactical support tasks.
Demanding operations necessitate the ability of airlifters to carry more and go practically anyplace. The cargo bay on the C-27J is the largest in its class, with a particularly sturdy cargo floor that can carry nearly five tons per square metre and can be changed for height and tilt to simplify operations. The C-27J has the best descent and ascend rate (4,000 – 2,500 ft/min), can conduct 3g tactical manoeuvres, and is qualified for short take-offs and landings (STOL) on snowy, sandy, and unprepared airfields.
The combat-proven C-27J may be outfitted with a comprehensive suite of Defensive Aids Subsystems, secure communications, and battlefield ballistic protection to operate in high-threat areas, transporting cargo, light vehicles, and personnel wherever they are needed. Its Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) ensures self-sufficiency.
