Two pilots ejected from their F-15 today morning May 18th, on the runway at St Louis airport in Mascoutah, Illinois.  Emergency responders arrived at the scene at 7:30 a.m local time.

The plane was on the ground when the pilots ejected, Medias reported.  One pilot is injured, The St Louis Post Dispatch reports. Footage from the scene showed the jet on the runway with fire crews nearby.

On the incidence, at least one pilot sustained minor injuries, but the extent of the pilot’s injuries is not known. It remains unclear what exactly happened that caused the pilots to be ejected.

In February Scott Air Force Base said the F-15QA plane would be used in training exercises at the airport.  The Qatar Emiri Air Force is understood to be learning to fly the F-15 there.  The base tweeted: ‘Formal training and instruction will be given to the pilots of this new aircraft over the next several months.’
