Uganda Airlines, Air Tanzania and Precision Air to seal deal on partnership

Uganda Airlines is negotiating with Air Tanzania and Precision Air to seal interline partnerships.

This will allow collaboration and a focus on streamlining travel across the region.

According to Tanzanian media outlet The Citizen, Uganda’s airline country manager Lucy Ismail said negotiations are in the final stages when she addressed the press at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam.

This means that the check-in and baggage will be handled by the airlines collectively.

Interline relationships ensure seamless travel for passengers between different airlines and ensure the efficiency and convenience of multi-itinerary passenger journeys.

In this case, a traveller has to check in only once for all the flights on their itinerary.

Their checked in luggages will then be transferred by the first airline to the second. This will enable a traveller not to collect the luggages and re-check them in again.

The Uganda airlines has been making in roads in Africa to ensure they have seamless travel amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

On August 20 Uganda Airlines welcomed the addition of its recently acquired brand new Airbus A330-800 NEO on the company’s Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).

The Airline acquired the two A330 NEO late last year with the first touching down at the country’s Entebbe international Airport 40 km south of the Capital Kampala late December 2020.

The additional two Airbus aircraft boosted the company’s fleet to six following the earlier acquisition of the Bombardier CRJ-900.

The new Airbus 330-800 Neo has seating capacity of 258 of which 20 seats are business class, 28 pre-economy and 210 the economy class.

The new airbus will facilitate quality long-haul flights, giving passengers improved inflight-services with relaxed sound-free travel to their destinations.
